A NORRIS Homes top 10 retailer for 2010
These questions are those often seen by those looking for
a new home. Check out our list below and if you have any other
questions please email us at
Q: Can your homes be placed on a basement?A: Yes, we offer many manufactured/modular homes that can be sited on foundations and/or basements.
Can I purchase factory direct or get a price quote on your website?
A: Home prices and setup requirements vary greatly based on a number of factors — size of home, region of the country, local construction issues/regulations/materials, equipment needs, and design features, just to name a few. We are able to sit down with you and work out the specifications that you require on purchasing a Norris or Schult home.
What is the value of my current home?
A: Manufactured housing prices and values are driven by many factors. We suggest that you use your local Yellow Pages to look up a real estate appraiser in your area who is familiar with manufactured housing to get an accurate, up-to-date appraisal. Appraisals may take into consideration the amount of land, location, views, condition of the home, condition of surrounding homes, and any improvements to the home and property. We can try to give you a very base quote.
Can I trade in my current home?
A: In most cases, yes.
Where can I get a list of options available for a home?
A: The best way is to email us or come by and we would be glad to show you the options available. There are many available options for these homes, no question is ignored.
How long is the warranty period?
A: Our manufacturer's warranty is for a period of one year from the original purchase date. We can supply you with detailed information on all warranties available on the home of your choice.
I have questions about the delivery and setup options.
A: We would be happy to sit down with you and walk you through the process from preparing the land and selecting a home to delivery and setup.
How does manufactured housing compare to site built housing?
A: Manufactured homes are built entirely in the factory under federal code administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which went into effect June 15, 1976, and has been upgraded numerous times. The code covers single- or multi-section homes and includes transport to the site and installation. Regulations include design & construction, strength & durability, transportability, fire resistance, energy efficiency & quality. Manufactured homes are built on a chassis and delivered to a site on several sets of axles; they are primarily intended to be affixed to a permanent foundation. Modular homes are built to state, local or regional code where the home will be located.
Because we build all our homes in a factory, we utilize labor-saving techniques not practical for the average site builder. The factory environment also improves the flow of materials and reduces the amount of "lost time" or damaged materials that are common on site-built construction sites. With more than 32,000 homes built last year, we are able to purchase materials at a more favorable price than most contractors due to volume. These savings are significant and are passed on to you in the form of affordable housing.
Do you supply the land to go with the home?
A: Yes. We have knowledge about land availability in some local areas.
Where do I get financing?
A: We can use most mortgage companies, such as 21st Mortgage, Wells Fargo, local banks, etc.
Can I custom design a home?
A: Yes, will be delighted to assist you. Norris Homes building facility specializes in custom homes while others feature standardized pre-engineered homes to enhance efficiency and value. We have a large majority of our homes customized by the customer.
Q: Something other than those above.
